As a Mobile Engineer (Cross-platform) within the Platform teams, you will design, build, and operate production-grade, user-centric mobile applications across Sun Group’s digital ecosystem using React Native. 

You will focus on delivering high-performance, reliable, and delightful mobile experiences for large user bases, supporting E-Commerce, Loyalty, Travel, and Digital Experience platforms, while integrating seamlessly with backend systems and AI services. 

In this role, you will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and partners to bring Sun Group’s digital strategy to life and elevate customer experiences at scale. 

Responsibilities 

- Design and develop cross-platform mobile applications (iOS & Android) using React Native with modern TypeScript/JavaScript.  

- Build reusable mobile UI components and follow mobile design systems, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and smooth user interactions.  

- Optimize mobile app performance: startup time, rendering performance, memory usage, battery efficiency, and offline-first experiences.  

- Integrate mobile apps with backend APIs securely; handle authentication (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT), error handling, retries, and state synchronization.  

- Work with native modules when needed (Swift/Kotlin/Java) and integrate device capabilities such as camera, location, biometrics, and push notifications.  

- Ensure app quality through automated testing, crash monitoring, analytics, and proactive performance observability.  

- Manage mobile CI/CD pipelines, versioning, and release processes for App Store & Google Play.  

- Participate in technical design discussions, contribute to mobile architecture decisions, and continuously improve engineering best practices. 

Qualifications 

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics/Telecom, or related fields.  

- 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years building mobile apps using React Native.  

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React fundamentals, and mobile application architecture.  

- Solid understanding of mobile performance optimization, lifecycle management, and platform-specific constraints (iOS & Android).  

- Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs and handling secure authentication flows on mobile.  

- Familiarity with native mobile development concepts (Swift/Kotlin) and third-party SDK integration.  

- Experience with CI/CD for mobile, automated testing, crash reporting, and analytics tools.  

- Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. 

- Experience with offline sync, real-time updates, or super-app architectures is an advantage.
